This is a 2 session in-person workshop.

LEVEL

Open to beginners and those who have dyed before and are interested in learning more.

MATERIALS (included)

We will include all the materials to make a vat, as well as a finished piece to dye. Students are also welcome to bring a small piece from home to dye.

DETAILS

In this two day class, we will set up a Michele Garcia 1, 2, 3 Indigo vat together, as well as work on four different resist techniques. There will be time to experience all four techniques as well as time between the two days to at home prepare work to be dyed the next day. Students will move at their own pace. A finished project of your choice, will be available . A scarf, tea towel, runner or just a piece of cloth to be made into something later.

Day One: Build vat together. Learn different resist techniques. Homework - use resist techniques from class to bind a project to dye on day two.
Day Two: Dyeing.

Please bring/wear:
Comfortable shoes
Apron or clothes you don't mind getting dirty
Rubber Gloves
Sun Hat
Notebook + Pen
